Body Fat Percentage Calculator
Estimate your body fat percentage two ways: with a tape measure around your waist and neck for a closer estimate, or from your height, weight and age in seconds.
How we got it
With a tape measure: the average of the US Navy circumference formula and Relative Fat Mass, shown as plus or minus 4 points. From height and weight: the Deurenberg formula (1.2 x BMI + 0.23 x age - 10.8 for men - 5.4), shown as plus or minus 5 points, because height and weight cannot tell muscle from fat.

Questions
What is the most accurate way to measure body fat at home?
A tape measure used the same way each time. DEXA scans are more accurate, but a tape is free and good at showing change.
Why is my result a range?
Every home method has an error of a few points. The trend over weeks tells you more than any single number.
Is the height and weight method good enough?
It is a starting point. It reads muscular people too high and some slim people too low, so use the tape method when you can.
